The sickies visited our house last week and I dared to think for a moment that it missed me. But come Monday, the scratchy throat was hard to ignore. I have been hopped up on cold medicine ever since and I would be damned it I was going to let it infringe upon my day off today.
Me and one of my BFF's went to breakfast in Long Beach at a place on the Marina that she has been going to for years and for some reason, I was never able to make it. As soon as we get there she bellied up to the outside bar and ordered a bottle of champagne and orange juice. We sat and drank mimosas out in the sun, breathing in the breezy ocean air, before we had a great breakfast. What a life. After we ate, we walked around the marina to walk off our breakfast (and the booze). I am not certain the booze was good for my cold, but hey...it was half orange juice...
It's been a while since I posted pictures of the kids here. They are growing so big and talking so much. Noah has graduated to calling Lily Lee Lee instead of Lileh. She is more advanced in the language area, but we find that he does learn from her. He is always a couple weeks behind...interesting because he is 2 weeks younger. His newest phrase is Lee Lee, are you? when he is looking for her. Lily has been saying tastes good, and this morning, Noah said, Mama, tates gid. It is so fun watching them grow and develop.
About a month ago we tried to take the kids to have their two year pictures taken. No luck. Neither would sit still and Noah was having a fit, which has been the norm this past week. He is definitely going through a defiant stage. Anyway, these are as good as it gets for their photo session...out on the front lawn, taken by mom.
The pictures were great. I love the close up of Lily. The one of Noah going up the stairs is a really good picture of him. Hard to imagine these two being anything BUT angels ;)
Thats great that Mama had a morning to herself with a friend. Good for you. We need those every now and then. I hope you get better.
